Phew!…another heatwave on the way
Heads up — the UK's about to get its third heatwave of the year, and this one might stick around for a while, possibly pushing past 30C (86F) for up to 10 days in a row!
Things start heating up properly from midweek, with some spots potentially hitting a scorching 34C (93F).
Because of this, health officials have put out amber heat-health warnings for the Midlands and eastern and southern England, running from 9am on Wednesday July 8th right through to 9pm on Sunday July 12th. Northern England's got a yellow warning for the same stretch.
Basically, this kind of heat isn't just uncomfortable — it can actually be dangerous, especially for older folks (65+) or anyone with existing health issues, so it's worth taking seriously and checking in on vulnerable friends, family, or neighbours. Stay cool out there!
